Our Committees/Teams

Are you looking for a deeper way to serve our church family? Our committees are always looking for fresh perspectives and dedicated hearts. Whether you have a knack for finance, a passion for property care, or a gift for organizing events, there is a place for you here.

Evangelism

Our Evangelism Committee helps our church live out its calling to welcome, invite, and share the love of Christ with our neighbors. This team nurtures a spirit of hospitality, reaches out to those who may be seeking a faith community, and helps us build meaningful connections within New Milford and beyond. Through prayerful planning, creative outreach, and genuine care for others, the committee helps our church shine with openness and grace—reminding us that every invitation can be an act of hope.

Worship

Our worship team helps shape the sacred atmosphere of our sanctuary, thoughtfully decorating the altar in ways that draw our eyes and hearts toward Scripture. Through color, texture, candles, and seasonal symbols, they create visual expressions of the Word—helping the congregation not only hear the story but see it come alive. Their quiet, creative ministry deepens our worship and invites us into a more prayerful, grounded encounter with God.

Memory Garden

The Memory Garden was created as a special place in the midst of our church grounds where the memory of loved ones could flourish. It’s a beautiful and quiet area where one can stroll peacefully and remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones and experience the love of God that surrounds us always. This garden stands at the entrance to the Chapel in the Pines, on the right of the driveway. The garden contains a Memorial Stone pathway bordered with myrtle which makes it possible for one to place cremated remains behind the appropriate stone. A memorial album is kept in the church library for each stone containing pictures, biographies, etc. of the people memorialized.

Church Membership

Church membership is more than a name on a list—it’s a living record of our shared life in Christ. As a congregation, we keep track of the milestones that shape our community: births and baptisms, confirmations, marriages, transfers, and the tender moments of death and burial. These details help us care for one another, honor each person’s journey, and maintain the connections that make our church family strong. Through membership, we commit to walking together in faith, service, and love.

Congregational Care

Congregational Care is one of the quiet, steady heartbeats of our church—showing love in practical, tender ways. Through our Funeral Committee, we walk alongside families in their grief, offering support and hospitality when it’s needed most. Our Love Baskets provide meals and care during times of illness, transition, or hardship, reminding folks they’re never alone. And with Birthday and Get Well cards, we celebrate joys, lift spirits, and keep connections strong. Together, these ministries weave a network of compassion that holds our community with grace.

Book of Remembrance

The Book of Remembrance is a quiet, sacred place where the names of loved ones are held with tenderness and dignity. It stands as a gentle witness to lives that shaped our community, a way of saying their stories still matter and their light has not gone out. In its pages, memory becomes a form of prayer—an ongoing act of love that keeps us connected across time, reminding us that in God’s care, no one is ever forgotten.

Scholarship

Our church scholarship program is a heartfelt ministry designed to support and encourage students as they pursue their educational goals. Rooted in our belief that learning is a lifelong gift from God, the program offers financial assistance to help ease the burden of tuition and related expenses. Through the generosity of our congregation, we’re able to invest in the next generation—celebrating their hard work, nurturing their potential, and reminding them that their church family is cheering them on every step of the way.
